We have the bowlers to challenge any team, says Litton
The T20 triumph came as a much-needed boost for Bangladesh, who had struggled earlier in the tour.
Bangladesh captain Litton Das believes his team's bowling unit is strong enough to take on any opposition in the world.
Speaking after Bangladesh's commanding 80-run victory against the West Indies on 20 December, which sealed a 3-0 whitewash in the T20 series, Litton credited the bowlers for their exceptional performances throughout the series.
"We knew that if we could post good runs on the board, we have the bowlers to defend it against any team. This series has shown their character, especially against a strong West Indies batting line-up," Litton said.
The T20 triumph came as a much-needed boost for Bangladesh, who had struggled earlier in the tour.
They endured a whitewash in the ODI series and drew the Test series.
Despite his personal struggles with the bat—scoring 0, 3, and 13 in the three matches—Litton's leadership shone brightly as he marshalled his team to a historic clean sweep.
"We've played good cricket across formats, even in Tests and ODIs. Unfortunately, we couldn't secure wins there. But our confidence carried through into this series, and the bowlers executed their plans brilliantly," he added.
Litton heaped praise on his bowlers for their resilience and execution on batting-friendly wickets.
"The first two matches had wickets that were good for batting, but our bowlers managed to restrict their power-hitters. Defending 190 runs against their line-up is a big achievement," he said.
He emphasised that the performances reflected the team's consistent progress, saying, "This is a bowling unit capable of challenging any team in the world. They've been improving every day, and their efforts were the backbone of this series win."
Litton also highlighted the importance of a stress-free environment cultivated by the team's coaching staff, led by Phil Simmons.
"Phil never puts us under pressure. We play freely, and the entire coaching staff and management have been incredibly supportive," he noted.
The acting captain explained how this collaborative effort has helped the players thrive.
"I've discussed my decisions openly with the staff, and they've backed us fully. This support has been key to our growth as a team," he said.
