Holders Dhaka Abahani almost out of title race
Dhaka Abahani Ltd remained at the 2nd slot securing 55 points from 23 matches, three point behind of league leaders Bashundhara Kings
Defending champions Dhaka Abahani Ltd are almost out of the title race after playing 2-2 draw with fellow Chattogram Abahani Ltd in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) Football at the Bangabandhu National Stadium here on Wednesday.
After a barren first half, defender Mohammed Mamun Miah opened the account for the popular sky-blue Dhanmondi based outfit Dhaka Abahani in the 63rd minute while striker Mohammad Nabib Newaj Jibon scored the second goal in the 80th minute.
On the other hand, Kyrgyz midfielder Daniel Nii Armah Tagoe netted the first goal for Chattogram Abahani converting a penalty in the 75th minute while Nigerian striker Nkwocha Chigosu leveled the margin in the stoppage time (90+1= 91st minute).
With the day’s draw, Dhaka Abahani Ltd remained at the 2nd slot securing 55 points from 23 matches, three point behind of league leaders Bashundhara Kings (58 points from 21 matches) while Chattogram Abahani also remained at the 7th slot earning 24 points from 22 matches.
