Nigar Sultana Joty became the first woman cricketer from Bangladesh to score a first-class century when she reached the three-figure mark for Central Zone on the final day of their three-day match against North Zone in the first-round fixture of the Women's Bangladesh Cricket League (BCL) at the Shaheed Kamaruzzaman Stadium in Rajshahi today.

Joty, unbeaten on 85 at stumps on Day 2, needed just 15 additional runs to reach the milestone on the final morning.
At the time of writing, North had reached 46-0 after 16 overs, with openers Fargana Haque and Ishma Tanjim unbeaten on 29 and 12, respectively.
Meanwhile, in another match being held in Rajshahi, East Zone were five wickets down for 130 in their second innings, trailing South Zone by 24 runs.
This year's Women's BCL marks the first-ever three-day competition for women cricketers in Bangladesh.
