Mashrafe's bracelet bought for whopping 42 lakhs, then gifted back to him

Former Bangladesh national cricket team captain Masharafe Bin Mortaza recently put up his longtime partner - a bracelet that he donned on his arm for 18 long years - for auction to support people affected by Covid-19. 

The auction was conducted through 'Auction 4 Action', a Bangladesh based charity organisation.

Having a base price of taka five lakh, the bracelet was bought on Sunday night for a massive price of taka 42 lakhs by 'Bangladesh Leasing and Finance Company Association', an association of financial institutions in Bangladesh.

However, in a more amazing act, the bracelet was gifted back to Mashrafe by the buyer.

"We bought the bracelet for 40 lakhs. But with that, we will give five percent more. In other words, we will pay a total of 42 lakhs. However, we would like to give the bracelet back to Mashrafe again. The bracelet of our favorite captain will be with him. If the situation is normal, we will hand over the bracelet to Mashrafe by a formal ceremony," said Mominul Islam, the chairman of the buying company and the representative at the auction.

The bracelet, with Mashrafe's name on it, has been a lucky charm and witness to all the highs and lows of his career. 

Mashrafe's auction was the latest in a string of auctions that occurred recently where several Bangladeshi cricketers put their memorable belongings up for bidding. 

Auction 4 Action was responsible for the bidding of Shakib Al Hasan's bat earlier that got sold for taka 20 lakh.
