Nayeem puts Bangladesh HP in strong position

Bangladesh HP are leading by 259 runs after the second day of their 4-day match vs Sri Lanka HP.
Bangladesh HP had ended the first day on 233-4. Skipper Nazmul Hossain picked up his hundred and was unbeaten on 124, while Afif Hossain scored 54.
Bangladesh HP lost Nazmul early on the day as he was dismissed on 133 and Mahidul Islam soon followed. But Zakir Hasan put up a 58-run stand with Nayeem Hasan before getting out on 49. Small contributions from the tail enders took the score to 360 as they were bowled out. Ramesh Mendis picked up four wickets for the visitors as Kalana Perera and Asitha Fernando picked up couple of wickets each.
In reply, off-spinner Nayeem struck early as Sri Lanka HP lost their first wicket in the sixth over. Nayeem struck in his next over to send back Sangeeth Cooray as the visitors were reduced to 26-2. Charith Asalanka and Minod Bhanuka tried to forge a partnership but Nayeem struck again in the 16th over to send back Bhanuka. In his very next over, Nayeem struck once again to send back Asalanka to reduce the Lankans to 59-4. But a 42-run stand between Promod Maduwantha and Ashen Bandara ensured that there were no more casualties and the visitors ended the day on 101-4.
Nayeem Hasan single-handedly pushed the Lankans back as he ended the day on figures of four for 31.
The 4-day match is being played at the Sheikh Abu Naser Stadium in Khulna. Earlier, the Bnagladesh HP team lost the One-day series by a margin of 2-1.
