Razzak, Nafees to announce retirement on Saturday
They have already informed the board about their decision.
Left-arm spinner Abdur Razzak has already been appointed selector of Bangladesh national cricket team a few days back. Shahriar Nafees is also a strong candidate for an important post of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB). None of them has officially retired from cricket. However, they have understood that they need to step down from playing to continue in BCB role.
Both Abdur Razzak and Shahriar Nafees set to announce their retirement as a cricketer on Saturday. They have already informed the board about their decision. Cricketers Welfare Association of Bangladesh (CWAB) confirmed the news through a press release on Friday.
A short and simple farewell program has also been organised for them.

Razzak has played 13 Tests, 153 ODIs and 34 T20Is for Bangladesh. The left-arm spinner took 206 wickets in ODIs which is the third-highest among Bangladeshi bowlers. Razzak became the first spinner in the country to take more than 200 ODI wickets. He is also the third-highest wicket-taker in T20I and the second-highest among spinners. He took 44 wickets in this format.
In domestic cricket, Razzak's bowling is astonishing. He is the only bowler in Bangladesh to take more than 600 wickets in the first class. The left-arm spinner has taken 634 wickets in 128 first-class matches. Razzaq's bowling record is also shining in List 'A' cricket. He took 412 wickets in 260 matches. He is the second-highest wicket-taker in List 'A' cricket. Former ODI captain Mashrafe bin Mortaza is the highest wicket-taker with 421 wickets.
Shahriar Nafees, who made his international debut in 2005, has played 24 Tests, 65 ODIs and one T20I for Bangladesh. His only T20I match for Bangladesh was also Tigers' first match in this format where Nafees led the side.
Despite playing his last ODI for Bangladesh in 2011, Nafees is still at number seven in the list of highest run-getter for Bangladesh in ODIs. The left-arm batsman has scored 2,201 runs at an average of 31.44 with 4 centuries and 13 half-centuries. Nafees has scored 1,026 runs at an average of 26.39 in 24 Tests, including a century and six half-centuries. He scored 25 runs in the only T20I.
Nafees has always performed in domestic cricket. He has scored 6,141 runs at an average of 36.40 in 154 first-class matches, including 15 centuries and 46 half-centuries. The left-arm batsman has scored 5,269 runs at an average of 32.32, including 9 centuries and 30 half-centuries in 180 List-A matches.
