Saifuddin out for at least a week
Rajshahi’s skipper Najmul Hossain Shanto confirmed the news.
Saifuddin was being regarded as one of the top players for Minister Group Rajshahi for the upcoming Bangabandhu T20 Cup. Rajshahi picked him first ignoring Gemcon Khulna captain Mahmudullah Riyad during their first call in the players' draft.
But the all-rounder will not be featuring for them for at least a week. He suffered an ankle injury during his team's training session on Sunday. The young all-rounder left the field on a crutch. The team was still hoping for some good news till Monday, but there was nothing.
Rajshahi's skipper Najmul Hossain Shanto confirmed the news. "Saifuddin was one of our most important players, unfortunately, we may not get him for the first six-seven days. We can't think about that right now, we have an important match tomorrow. We are ready to fight with whatever we have in our armor," said the young skipper.
Earlier, the manager of Rajshahi side, Hannan Sarkar said that Saifuddin was likely to miss the first 3 games for Rajshahi. He might be out of contention for a week.
Rajshahi play their first match tomorrow in the curtain-raiser against Beximco Dhaka. They will be facing Gemcon Khulna and Fortune Barishal next respectively within the next seven days.
