Hosts Sri Lanka A team scored 223 for 5 in 74 overs against touring Bangladesh A team on the first day of second four-day unofficial Test match of the two-match series at MRICS in Hambantota on Friday.
The hosts opted to bat after winning the toss and lost opener Sangeeth Coora (17) when the team's score was 32 at 13.4 overs.
A 121-run second-wicket partnership by opener Pathum Nissanka and Kamindu Mendis helped them reach the moderate total.
Nissanka smashed 85 runs off 166 balls hitting 11 fours and Mendis contributed 62 off 121 balls featuring one six and eight fours.
Among others, captain Ashan Priyanjan added 28, Priyamal Perera 4 runs while Charith Asalanka and Lahiru Udara remained unbeaten at 17 and 2 runs respectively at the end of the first day.
Mehidy Hasan Miraz grabbed three wickets and Ebadat Hossain picked two conceding 66 and 51 runs respectively.
The first three-day match between Bangladesh and Sri Lanka ended in a draw at the Mahinda Rajapaksa Stadium in Hambantota on Tuesday.
