Shoriful enjoying bowling partnership with Mustafiz

Gazi Group Chattogram have been phenomenal in the ongoing Bangabandhu T20 Cup, winning all four games. The consistency of the fast bowling duo of Mustafizur Rahman and Shoriful Islam is one of the keys to their success. Despite being a new entrant, Shoriful Islam is getting along very well with his senior partner. 

The youngster receives instructions from Mustafizur every time before he comes on to bowl. Shoriful is made aware of his mistakes at the end of overs too. The 19-year old is learning how to assess match situations and bowl according to them from Mustafizur. 

"I've been really enjoying bowling with Mustafiz bhai. He gives me instructions before the start of the overs. He speaks to me after matches how I can improve bowling according to match situations," said Shoriful.

Not only he is learning from Mustafizur, but there is also a healthy competition going on between them. The youngster stated, "A healthy competition is going on between us. I can share everything with him and he teaches me different things. I really enjoy bowling with him."

Shoriful is enjoying bowling with the new ball in this tournament. "Every fast bowler wants to bowl with the new ball and be aggressive. So I am really enjoying this," he mentioned.

Shoriful has a long follow-through and is often seen giving batsmen a stare after deliveries. "Being aggressive has a positive impact on my performance. I have this habit (having a long follow-through) since my early days. I do not do this premeditatedly."

The left-arm quick, rather than thinking of individual success, prioritizes the success of the team. "My target is to bowl as many dot balls as I can. In T20 cricket, dot balls bring you wickets," Shoriful mentioned. 

The under-19 World Cup winner has picked up seven wickets in four matches for Gazi Group Chattogram in the Bangabandhu T20 Cup thus far.
