Tamim as captain
Tamim first captained Bangladesh during the New Zealand tour in 2017, leading the side in the Christchurch Test in the absence of regular captain Mushfiqur Rahim, who was injured.
Two years later, he captained in ODIs for the first time during the 2019 tour of Sri Lanka, standing in for the injured Mashrafe Bin Mortaza.
In 2020, Tamim was permanently appointed as ODI captain following Mashrafe's resignation. During his three-year tenure, he achieved significant success, leading Bangladesh to victory in 21 out of 37 matches.
Among players who have captained Bangladesh in at least five ODIs, Tamim boasts the highest success rate, making him the nation's most successful ODI captain.
