Three or four more Hamzas would be great for the country, says Jamal Bhuiyan as he embarks on coaching path
As his playing career nears its conclusion, Jamal is now committed to coaching, enrolling in the AFC ‘A’ Licence Coaching Course.
Bangladesh national football team captain Jamal Bhuiyan has recently praised the rising star Hamza Choudhury, highlighting the significant impact he could have on Bangladesh football.
Speaking at the opening of AFC 'A' Licence Coaching Course at the BFF Academy on Saturday, Jamal expressed his excitement over Hamza's role in inspiring the next generation.
"Hamza playing in the English Premier League is a huge deal. If we had three or four more players like him, it would be great for the country," Jamal said.
Jamal's comments come at a time when he is also embarking on his own new journey in football—coaching. Unable to play in the first phase of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) due to contract complications with Abahani Limited, Jamal has been focusing on his fitness while in Denmark, where he trained with a local club.
As his playing career nears its conclusion, Jamal is now committed to coaching, enrolling in the AFC 'A' Licence Coaching Course.
In his first appearance at the course, Jamal spent time with young players at the BFF Academy, offering them advice and inspiring them to follow their football dreams.
He also discussed his absence from the BPL, saying, "What happened with Abahani is in the past; I couldn't do anything about it. I was in Denmark, where I kept training and playing with a local club. Let's see what happens next."
Jamal's participation in the coaching course is a significant step in his future career, as it could lead to a professional coaching licence.
Alongside Jamal, 24 other participants, including former national captain Mamunul Islam, are taking part in the course.
