Chaos sets its sights on branding with unwavering food quality
With a commitment to consistent food quality and customer engagement, Chaos is making a mark in Chattogram’s food scene. Fahim Ahmed, the entrepreneur behind the venture, is determined to build a brand known for authentic flavours and long-term success
New restaurants often pop up in the business world, offering great food at first, but as they gain popularity, the quality can sometimes drop. This is a common experience that inspired young entrepreneur Fahim Ahmed from Chattogram to dive into the restaurant industry.
His new venture, Chaos, located in the Lalkhan Bazar area, has quickly captured the attention of food lovers in just a few months.
Chaos started as a trial in January this year and officially opened in May. In a short time, it has become a favourite spot, known for its delicious burgers, meat boxes, and rice boxes. The team behind the restaurant is focused on maintaining high-quality food and establishing it as a recognised food brand in Chattogram.
Fahim, who graduated in electrical and electronic engineering (EEE) from Independent University, Chattogram, later pursued an MBA. His passion for dining and a commitment to quality food led him to open his first restaurant, Ladit, in 2021, with two relatives. This year, he took the leap to open Chaos as a sole proprietor.
The restaurant's menu is diverse, featuring Fish Tots, Fish Bites, Fries and Wedges, Chicken Wings, Naga Drums, Coffee and Shakes, Chicken Tacos, Chicken Meat Box, Rice Box, Sandwiches, and Sub Sandwiches.
Fahim shared his journey with The Business Standard, "During my student years, I explored all types of dining experiences, from street food to fine dining. I noticed that many restaurants struggle to maintain authentic taste over time, and this realisation sparked my passion for food. That's when I started working on the idea of opening my own restaurant."
Emphasis on customer feedback
When you step into the restaurant, the first thing you'll notice is a large board in front of the kitchen, covered with small sticky notes. These are customer reviews—feedback on everything from food quality to areas for improvement and complaints. The restaurant takes all this input seriously.
The board displays hundreds of notes, filled with both compliments and constructive criticism.
Fahim Ahmed, the entrepreneur behind the restaurant, shared, "We place great importance on customer reviews, which is why we set up this board. It's not just for feedback on the food—customers also share their memories, experiences, and opinions here. This creates a unique connection between us and our patrons. Based on their input, we're planning to update the decor soon. Since our business is all about our customers, we treat them as key stakeholders and always prioritise their involvement."
Stating that he is working towards building a food brand from Chattogram, Fahim Ahmed said, "I am not overly focused on profits. My goal is to ensure consistent quality and pave the way for long-term success. I am not reliant on chefs either. Many of the country's well-known brands started similarly—from small food courts to becoming established brands. That is the direction I aim for as well. Specifically, I want to preserve the authentic taste of items like burgers and sub sandwiches."
