DJI Neo selfie drone: Taking selfies and vlogging on ‘another level’
DJI has launched the Neo, a selfie drone that lets you record yourself from an aerial point of view. Priced at $199, the drone aims to popularise selfie drones among young people.
Weighing only 135 grams, this lightweight drone is much more capable considering its size. It can shoot 4K videos at 30 frames per second and 1080P videos at 60 frames per second.
The camera on the drone has a 12-megapixel, half-inch sensor. The single-axis mechanical gimbal minimises shakiness, providing smooth, stable footage.
With a press of a button, you can launch the device by choosing one of the six intelligent shooting modes, providing dynamic angles to elevate your footage. As Tom's Guide says, the drone will reliably follow you as you walk or run, thanks to AI subject tracking.
To store the recorded videos, Neo has 22 gigabytes of internal storage, which can contain up to 40 minutes of 4K 30fps videos or 55 minutes of 1080P 60fps videos, as claimed by DJI.
The DJI Fly mobile app lets you offload the footage quickly onto your phone and continue flying. "It takes just a few minutes and making a habit of this ensures you always get the shot", says the Tom's Guide report.
The drone's typical flight range is 50 metres, but when paired with the compatible controller, sold separately, it can transmit videos from an impressive distance of 10 kilometres. The included battery lasts for approximately 18 minutes on a single flight.
