The Q-scout coding robot kit

The Q-scout coding robot kit is suitable for children of ages six and above. Its regular price is Tk9,000 and at discount it is available at Tk7,500.

In the box, there are small parts that need to be assembled with the help of the accompanying leaflet. It is compatible with LEGO's mechanical building block sets which allow children to easily design and create their own 'Qoopers'. It enhances children's logical thinking skills and manipulating abilities. 

The robot can be programmed with a drag-and-drop graphical programming environment that is a combination of Arduino and a Scratch Jr and 3.0. It is a great platform for kids to get hands-on experience with programming, electronics assembly and robotics.

Qobo

Qobo is actually an Intelligent Programmable Snail (STEAM) which is suitable for children between three to eight years old. It can be purchased from ConfigRbot's official Facebook page for Tk10,000 and at discount the price will be Tk8,000. 

The Qobo box contains a snail robot, 30 programming cards, a map and a manual (Playbook) comprising instructions and simple lessons. Kids can learn maths, as its expanded option, using its programming cards. Qobo can move, turn, dance, change colour and make sounds for the children when prompted.

Designed for younger kids, the snail can be commanded with simple programming cards without the need for smartphones or tablets. However, for older kids, a programming option is available too.

Moreover, It has two play modes – a free mode and game mode. In the free mode, Qobo scans the programming cards and then it moves, makes sounds or changes its colour accordingly. In the game mode, on the other hand, the users can arrange the cards on the map in a correct sequence to solve quests in the Playbook.

Q-Elephant Robot Kit

The Q-Elephant, available at ConfigRbot Facebook page, comes with 267 pieces of metal parts and electronic modules. Using these parts, children aged ten and above can build a majestic elephant or a mechanical unicorn with flapping wings. After discount, its price is Tk9,000.

It has 209 parts and it can be easily transformed into mechanical dinosaur or crocodile. This is rich in interaction with discoloured eyes that can express emotions. Using coding, the Q-Dino's eye display or light effects can be controlled.

It has three levels of programming (primary, mid and high) so it is pretty easy for kids to use. It improves kids' manipulative abilities, logical thinking and teamwork skills.
