West Bengal Approves Land Acquisition for Border Fencing at Bangladesh Border

The West Bengal Cabinet of India has approved land acquisition for the construction of a barbed-wire fence along the Bangladesh border. The fence will be built in the Karimpur area of Nadia district. On January 28, the Trinamool Congress-led cabinet approved the land acquisition. This decision comes amid recent tensions between Bangladesh and India over border fencing.
