Bhutan has stopped releasing water for an irrigation channel with it's border with Assam.
The channel which has been used by the Indian farmers since 1953 has left around 25 villages affected by this decision, reports Times of India.
But now, as part of its efforts to fight the Covid-19 pandemic, Bhutan has banned the entry of foreigners, including Indian farmers who used to cross over to divert sections of a river in Bhutan into channels that irrigate farms in Assam.

Bhutanese sources , however, disputed that Thimphu has stopped flow of any 'irrigation water'.
