Losing one aspect does not mean losing the entire war: Hezbollah MP Ibrahim
On Hezbollah's next course of action after its leader Hassan Nasrallah’s death, Ibrahim said that the party is going to change for good
Losing one aspect of a war does not mean losing the entire war, and Hezbollah has not lost the war with Israel even after dealing with some heavy blows, said Lebanon-based armed group Hezbollah's Member of Parliament Ibrahim Muossawi.
"Assassination and killing will not change the course of the battle. I can assure you that we had losses but we have not lost the war," he said during an interview with Al Jazeera on 11 October.
He further said, "Hezbollah has been dealt with tremendous blows, largely due to technological gaps. We have some resources but not enough compared to what Israel has. In that sense, Hezbollah has had very great losses."
When asked about the US efforts to broker a ceasefire, Ibrahim said, "12 months have passed in Gaza and Lebanon. We have seen scores of initiatives by the US to broker peace but it hasn't reached its destination. Israelis have full green signal from the US and they are stockpiling missiles and arsenal which are coming from the US. I don't think we can make any dissociation between the American position and the Israeli position."
On Hezbollah's next course of action after its leader Hassan Nasrallah's death, Ibrahim said that the party is going to change for good.
"Yes, we are going to change. When there are major blows and wars like this, you have to accept change. I think the party is going to change for the better as people learn from history. This is going to add a lot of expertise to Hezbollah," he added.
"Nasrallah's death was a huge loss for the resistance, but it will add a transcendental, spiritual fuel to everyone who believes in dignity," Ibrahim said.
On the cooperation between Hezbollah and Iran, Ibrahim hoped that it would continue to grow over time.
