Steve Jobs’ daughter opts for modeling as she won’t inherit her father’s wealth
According to her mother Laurene Powell-Jobs, the 22-year old Eve won't be inheriting her father's wealth because the family doesn’t believe in "the accumulation of wealth"
Despite her family's net worth is $21.5 billion, Apple founder Steve Jobs' youngest daughter Eve Jobs is on her own path to success – from a decorated equestrian to now a celebrated model.
The Stanford-educated Eve is determined to carve out own success. According to her mother Laurene Powell-Jobs, the 22-year old Eve won't be inheriting her father's wealth because the family doesn't believe in "the accumulation of wealth", reports the Sun.
Having earned medals for her equestrian skills, Eve is ranked No.5 out of 1,000 horse riders under 25 in the world, and also has competed all over the globe. She recently caused a splash with a sultry shoot for beauty brand Glossier, posting a series of images of her to her nearly 186,000 Instagram followers while posing in a bathtub.
Steve Jobs died aged 56 in 2011 after being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. He passed his billion dollar fortune to his wife Laurene, who since has become a successful investor. Laurene Powell Jobs and family currently stand 42th on the list of world's richest, with a net worth of $21.5 billion. However, the Jobs children have been told they need to make their own money.
"I inherited my wealth from my husband, who didn't care about the accumulation of wealth," Laurene said in an interview earlier this year.
"I am not interested in legacy wealth buildings, and my children know that. Steve wasn't interested in that. If I live long enough, it ends with me."
Money doesn't buy medals
While money may bring in advantages, medals have to be earned; talented horse-rider Eve Jobs has worked hard to climb the equestrian ladder on her own merit and also earned accolades.
She first sat on a horse aged just two, and began training properly when she was six.
In 2016 Laurene Powell-Jobsbought a luxury $15 million 3.5 acre ranch in the US's winter horse riding capital Wellington, Florida. Show jumper Eve trained there, complete with an air-conditioned barn big enough for 20 horses and a show-jumping rink.
Currently, out of 1,000 horse riders under 25 in the world, Eve, who is due to graduate from Stanford University next year, is ranked number five and has competed all over the globe.
Eve was named "rider of the month" in March 2017 and has competed alongside the likes of Mary-Kate Olsen, Jessica Springsteen, and Bill Gates' daughter, Jennifer Gates.
Splashing in the ocean and sheering through the sky
The Jobs family havethe 256ft luxury yacht Venus at their disposal, which is worth $112 million. Steve Jobs had commissioned the yacht in his life time, but never got to see the completed work.
His family have since enjoyed it, and Eve and her mother were spotted relaxing aboard earlier this year off the coast of Cannes.
They also boast as two private jets worth $56.87 million and $9.92 million, ensuring Eve is well travelled.
'I met my current boyfriend through Instagram'
Speaking to Horse Sport magazine in 2019, when asked to reveal one surprising thing about herself, Eve revealed: "I met my current boyfriend through a DM – ladies, go for it!"
While she didn't specify her boyfriend's name, reports last year suggested she was dating Brown University student and water polo athlete Aidan Reilly, although little is known about their romance.
From earning medals to making big as a model
Eve Jobs marked her modeling debut by posing for Glossier's holiday campaign, which also featured Euphoria's Sydney Sweeney and RuPaul's Drag Race's Naomi Smalls.
For the shoot, Eve is photographed in a bubble bath wearing nothing but an assortment of gold jewelry. True to the beauty brand's ethos of self-care, she's seen applying Glossier's shimmery lip gloss while using an eye mask and sipping on a glass of wine.
While flaunting the shoot on her own Instagram account, Jobs thanked the brand and its founder, Emily Weiss.
"Biggest thanks to @emilyweiss& everyone at @glossier! Go check out the collection ?," she wrote.
