1 dead, 2 hurt in Pabna land dispute
Additional police were deployed for ensuring security in the village following the incident.
A man was killed and two others injured in a clash over land ownership at Kulunia village of Dogachi union in Pabna Sadar Upazila on Sunday.
The deceased, Idris Ali Mandal, 55, was the son of Abbas Ali of the village. Injured Ripon Ali Mandal, 35, and Siddik Ali Mandal, 45, are his brothers.
Officer-in-Charge of Pabna Sadar Police Station Obaidul Haque said: “Idris and Ashraf of the same village were embroiled in a longstanding dispute over the possession of land. This led to a conflict between them on Sunday afternoon.

“At one stage, Ashraf’s associates swooped on Idris’ men with locally-made weapons, leaving Idris critically injured,” he added.
He was taken to Pabna Sadar Hospital where doctors pronounced him dead.
