The government has suspended fourteen officials working in the Aspire to Innovate (a2i) programme, implemented by the Information and Communication Technology division (ICT).
The Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology issued the directive today (20 August) due to ongoing investigations and subsequent actions against them based on various allegations.
The officials who have been instructed to refrain from duty include Policy Advisor Anir Chowdhury, E-Government Analyst Md. Farhad Zahid Sheikh, Project Management Specialist Md. Majedul Islam among many others.

Meanwhile, a three-member committee was constituted to investigate the complaints against five officials of a2i.
An office order, signed by Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Division Deputy Secretary M Zillur Rahman, today said the committee was assigned to investigate the complaints brought against the officials recently.
Headed by ICT Division Additional Secretary Dr Muhammad Mehedi Hasan, other members of the committee are a2i Programme Joint Project Director Molla Mizanur Rahman and ICT Division Deputy Secretary Md Shahinur Alam, a press release said.
The committee has been asked to submit its inquiry report within five-working day.
