A clash broke out today (30 January) between two groups of traders at the Dhaka International Trade Fair at Purbachal in Narayanganj's Rupganj.

"Two individuals were detained in connection with the incident," Narayanganj Senior Assistant Police Superintendent (G-Circle) Mehedi Islam told The Business Standard.
He said ten people, including two police officers, were injured and received treatment at a nearby clinic.
According to traders at the fair, an argument broke out between employees of Ashik Fashion, a blazer shop, and BM Collection, a crockery store, over attracting customers to their respective stalls.
The dispute escalated into a violent altercation where people attacked with sticks and rods. When the police arrived at the scene, they were also attacked, prompting them to charge batons to disperse the crowd.
Following the incident, two individuals named Rakib and Habib were detained and taken to the local police station.
