2 killed, 3 injured in road accident in Gazipur
The deceased were identified as Abu Hanif of Nandail upazila and Sohel Rana of Gauripur upazila in Mymensingh
Two passengers were killed, and at least three others were injured in a collision between a CNG autorickshaw and a truck in Gazipur.
The incident took place in Satkhamair area of Sreepur upazila where a CNG driver lost control of the vehicle and hit a truck from behind.
The deceased were identified as Abu Hanif of Nandail upazila and Sohel Rana of Gauripur upazila in Mymensingh.
Among the injured are CNG passenger Ripa of Kishoreganj district, her husband Siddiqur Rahman, and an unidentified youth.
The injured Ripa and her husband said that four passengers, including themselves, left Hossainpur in Kishoreganj for Sreepur in a CNG on Friday evening. On the way, when the CNG reached Satkhamair area around 8:45 pm on Friday, a truck in front of it suddenly slowed down. The CNG driver lost control of the vehicle and hit the back of the truck.
Police and locals rescued the injured and took them to Sreepur Upazila Health Complex.
Sub-Inspector (SI) of Sreepur Model Police Station, Sumon Mia, said, "On-duty doctors declared Abu Hanif and Sohel Rana dead after they were taken to hospital.
MA Saeed Leon, doctor in charge of Sreepur Upazila Health Complex, said that the injured were out of danger.
