2 security guards die at Ctg shipbreaking yards

Two security guards died of cardiac arrest at two different shipbreaking yards in Chattogram on Monday.
The deceased are Jalendra Chakma, 24, guard of "Ma Steel" in Banshbaria area and Kranti Tripura, 25, guard of "Janata Steel" in Joramotol area in Sitakunda.
Abul Kashem, owner of Ma Steel told The Business Standard that Jalendra was taken to Chattogram Medical College Hospital after he had been feeling unwell. Later he died there on Monday morning.
Meanwhile, Kranti Tripura fell sick while performing duty after having dinner at Janata Steel. He was taken to the same hospital where doctor declared him dead, said Sohel, manager of the shipbreaking yard.
Two officials of the Department of Inspection for Factories and Establishments-- Deputy General Inspector Abdullah Al Sakib Mubarrat and Labour Inspector (health) Subhankar Datta visited the spots following the deaths of the two guards.
Subhankar Datta told TBS that they learnt that the guard died of cardiac arrest.
Details could be known once the autopsy reports are at hand, he added.
