23 teen-gang members held in Dhaka
They founded the gang recently in association with teenagers lived in slums.
A mobile court has arrested 23 members of three different teen gangs- Devil King Pool, Chan Jadu Group, and Agun- from Mugda and Manda area of the capital during a raid on Monday night.
Among them, three were sent to Juvenile Development Centre in Gazipur and others were sentenced to different prison terms.
"As per their statement, one of the gangs was locally known as Devil King Pool Party Volume-2. We detained 11 from that gang,” said Bina Rani Das, additional superintendent of police of RAB-3.
“Their leader is Tanvir Hossain Apu (20) who is currently injured in a fight with another teenage gang named Chan Jadu Group, and admitted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital.”
According to RAB sources, the founders of Chan Jadu Group are two brothers named Limon and Emon. They are the son of a local drug dealer. They founded the gang recently in association with teenagers lived in slums.
"Sensing presence of the law enforcers Limon and Emon left the area," said Bina Rani Das.
"The main agenda of our drive against the teen gang members is not to punish them; we want them to be corrected," she added.
