50 pilot projects eyeing to 4th industrial revolution opened

Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Division's Senior Secretary NM Ziaul Alam on Monday inaugurated 50 pilot projects with a view to making technology-based skilled manpower eyeing the fourth industrial revolution.
He inaugurated the projects at the opening day of an online workshop on occupation-based "Readiness Analysis and Competency Standards and Curriculum Development" today.
The online workshop is being implemented by the ICT and Cabinet divisions in collaboration with the Temasek Foundation and Singapore Polytechnic International.
Speaking as the chief guest, NM Ziaul Alam said, "Since the announcement of the prime minister to build Digital Bangladesh, we have been preparing for the fourth industrial revolution."
"We have now started work on skill development in various sectors by combining the elements of the fourth industrial revolution with all the initiatives. One of our goals now is to increase technology-dependent skilled manpower in all sectors in the future."
Out of the total seven phases of pilot project implementation, Phase-1 (Workshop for Skill Development Policy Makers in Singapore) and Phase-2 (Workshop for Skill Development Programme Implementers in Bangladesh) have been completed. In the third phase, a five-day long training / workshop has been organised online.
