7th grader held ‘instead of father’ gets bail in Cox’s Bazar
A Cox's Bazar court today (5 December) granted bail to a seventh grader who was detained on 26 November 'along with arms' instead of his father.
District and Sessions Judge Abdul Majid's court granted bail to Tousiful Karim Rafi, said Cox's Bazar Woman and Child Repression Prevention Tribunal Public Prosecutor Mohammad Yunus.
Rafi, 14, is a class VII student of Teknaf Hnila High School.
Prosecutor Mohammad Yunus said the court granted him bail considering his age and the ongoing annual examination schedule.
On 26 November, a team of Teknaf Model Police Station conducted a drive at the house of Rezaul Karim, a panel chairman of Hnila Union Parishad but he managed to flee.
Locals said they picked up Rafi failing to arrest his father.
Police claimed they detained Rafi along with arms.
Later, Rafi was charged under the Arms Act and sent to the Child Development Centre by the court.
