820 hospitalized for dengue in 24hrs
The number of people infected with the dengue in the last 24 hours was 37 higher than that on the previous day
As many as 820 dengue patients were hospitalised across Bangladesh in the last 24 hours until 8.00am on Wednesday. Among them, 345 patients were in Dhaka and 475 in districts outside the capital city.
In the previous 24 hours, a total of 783 dengue patients were admitted to different hospitals across the country. Of them, 344 were in Dhaka and 439 in other districts.
So, the number of people infected with the mosquito-borne disease in the last 24 hours was 37 higher than that on the previous day.
The number of patients currently undergoing treatment in government and private hospitals in the country is 3,588, according to the Health Emergency Operation Center and Control Room at the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
In Dhaka alone, 1,989 patients are receiving treatment in 41 government and private hospitals, whereas 1,599 people are undergoing treatment outside Dhaka, the DGHS data showed.
From January 1, altogether 73,565 dengue-affected people have been hospitalized across the country, while 57 have died, according to the DGHS.
However, the unofficial death toll is reported to be at 196, as yet.
