Advance train tickets sale for Eid starts
Thousands of people were seen standing in queues at Kamalapur Railway Station
Sale of advance train tickets for Eid-ul-Adha started from 9am on Monday.
Thousands of people were seen standing in queues at Kamalapur Railway Station from early morning to collect tickets for intercity trains of August 7.
Tickets of August 8, 9, 10, and 11 will be sold on July 30 and 31 and August 1 and 2 respectively, said Bangladesh Railway(BR) officials.
This year advance tickets are being sold at different locations in the capital to ease the ticket-buying process and prevent long queues of holidaymakers.
Tickets for intercity trains will be sold at Kamalapur, Airport, Tejgaon and Banani rail stations and the old Rail Bhaban in Fulbaria.
Earlier, Railways Minister Nurul Islam had announced at a press conference that 50 percent of tickets will be sold online through the Bangladesh Railway app, SMS and railway website.
