Drives are being conducted for the missing fishermen
Members of Bangladesh Air Force are risking their lives to rescue the people from the affected areas during the cyclonic storm Bulbul.
Two helicopters of the Air Force conducted aerial search to rescue fishermen who went missing after a trawler sank into Meghna River on Sunday, said a source in the Air Force.
After two hours of search in the river, they had to return to the base due to adverse weather. They could not find anyone then.
Our Bhola correspondent reports, a fisherman drowned and ten went missing as a trawler carrying 24 people capsized into the river due to strong current under the influence of cyclonic storm Bulbul in Bhola on Sunday.
Members of Bangladesh Coast Guard (South Zone) recovered the body and rescued 13 fishermen alive from the river, said M Hayat-Ibne-Siddique, media officer of Coast Guard (South zone).
Drives are being conducted for the missing fishermen, he added.
Confirming the incident, Bhola Police Superintendent Sarkar Mohammed Kaiser said police has been conducting drives to rescue the missing people.
