Ali, Shamsul new president, secretary of Chattogram Union of Journalists
A total of 382 of 404 members of CUJ voted in the biannual election held on Thursday.
Mohammad Ali and M Shamsul Islam have been elected as president and general secretary respectively of the Chattogram Union of Journalists (CUJ) for a two-year term.
The election steering committee on Thursday night announced the results. A total of 382 of 404 members of CUJ voted in the biannual election held in Chattogram city on Thursday.
Other office bearers are: senior vice-president Ratan Kanti Debashis, Vice-president Anindyo Tito, joint secretary Sabur Shuvo, finance secretary Kashem Shah, organising secretary SM Iftekharul Islam, publication secretary Iftekhar Faisal and executive committee member Moharram Hosain.
Senior journalist Jasim Chowdhury Sabuj was the president of Election steering committee.
