Amnesty calls for 'swift, impartial' investigation into recent attacks on alleged AL members at Zero Point
Amnesty International has called for swift and impartial investigation into attacks on people perceived to be part of the Awami League at Zero Point on Sunday (10 November).
They also urged the authorities to hold the perpetrators of the attacks accountable.
In a statement on X released by the human rights organisation, it said, "Attacking people for their political beliefs is a violation of their right to freedom of expression and association and authorities must take action to protect and foster these rights of all people, regardless of their political affiliations."

The statement comes following recent incidents of mob violence on anyone suspected to be an Awami League activist at at Zero Point in the capital where AL had called for rallies on the occasion of Noor Hossain Day.
Despite there being no strong presence of Awami League supporters, students, supporters of BNP and other political parties gathered at Zero Point to thwart their movement.
