Bangabandhu’s killer Mosleh Uddin still on freedom fighters' list
His name in the gazette notification was issued on 6 September, 2003 during the regime of the BNP-led four-party coalition government
Mosleh Uddin, who confessed to killing Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, is still in the list of freedom fighters of Bangladesh.
According to the Ministry of Liberation War Affairs' official website, Mosleh Uddin Khan's name is enlisted in the published gazette, Prothom Alo reported.
Although the top court of the country sentenced him to death in the murder case of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the murder of four national leaders (known as jail killings), the state has yet to revoke his freedom fighter status.

Earlier in 2017, the decision was taken to repeal the title and certificates of four fugitives accused of the 15 August killings. They are- Captain Nur Chowdhury, Major Shariful Haque Dalim, Rashed Chowdhury and Mosleh Uddin.
The ministry officials said, "The name has somehow skipped their sight, but will soon be removed from the list."
Calling it "unfortunate and shameful", Liberation War Affairs Minister AQM Mozammel Haque told Prothom Alo, "Somehow the name remained on the list despite the decision to cancel the title, gazette and certificate of the killer. However, we have now made the initiative to take action in this regard."
Mosleh Uddin, son of Abdul Haq Khan, hailed from Dattyergaon village under Shibpur thana of Narsingdi District.
He had been living in the country, after the assassination of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and his family on 15 August 1975, until the Awami League government came to power in 1996. Soon after the investigation into Bangabandhu murder case started, Mosleh Uddin fled the country.
Later the government had his entire property confiscated.
