The Bangladesh Financial Intelligence Unit (BFIU) has ordered banks to freeze all accounts of former lawmaker for Satkhira-3, AFM Ruhal Haque, his wife Ila Haque, son Ziaul Haque and daughter Mehzabin Haque.
The anti-money laundering agency, in a letter sent to all banks today (3 October), ordered the financial institutions to freeze the accounts for the next 30 working days.
Ruhal served as a longtime MP for the Satkhira-3 constituency which encompasses Assasuni and Debhata upazilas and the four northernmost union parishads of Kaliganj Upazila: Bhara Simla, Champaphul, Nalta, and Tarali of the district.
