Bank security guard killed during robbery in Brahmanbaria
Police are investigating into the murder incident and questioning the other security guards of the bank
A group of miscreants has killed a security guard of Bangladesh Development Bank Limited (BDBL) Ashuganj branch in Brahmanbaria.
Police on Saturday night recovered the body of the 23-year-old guard, Rajesh Biswas, covered with blood and limbs tied, from the Ashuganj Upazila branch of the bank.
On information, Brahmanbaria Superintendent of Police (SP) Mohammad Anisur Rahman and special teams from the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) and the Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) visited the spot.
According to a police source, the miscreants tried to break the vault of the bank. The bank authorities yet to confirm whether any money was stolen or not. However, two keys to the vault, kept by the cashier and the second officer in a secret place inside the bank, could not be found.
Mobasher Hossain, manager of Ashuganj branch of the bank, said, "No money or valuable asset was stolen. The bank authorities are preparing to file a case in this regard."
Meanwhile, police also did not find any inside and outside footage of the closed circuit cameras of the bank since 2 am on Friday.
Police suspect that the miscreants turned off the cameras before the robbery and murder.
SP Mohammad Anisur Rahman said, "Police are investigating into the murder incident and questioning the other security guards of the bank. Details can be told later."
