Chhatra League leader Amit Saha arrested over Abrar murder
Amit is being taken to the Detective Branch office
Amit Shaha, another accused in Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (Buet) student Abrar Fahad murder case, has been arrested today.
Detective Branch of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested him from Sabujbag area in the capital, confirmed Rajib-al-Masud, the additional deputy commissioner.
Amit, a third-year student of Civil Engineering Department, was the resident of No 2011 room of Sher-e-Bangla Hall of the university, where Abrar was brutally beaten to death on Monday night.
According to Detective Branch sources, law enforcers have found the involvement of Amit, also the deputy law affairs secretary of Chhatra League Buet unit, in Abrar murder though it is not confirmed yet whether Amit was present during the incident or not.
Amit is being taken to the Detective Branch office, confirmed Mahbub Alam, joint commissioner of Detective Branch.
Abrar, 22, a second-year student of Buet's electrical and electronics engineering department, was beaten to death allegedly by a group of Chhatra League men in Sher-E-Bangla Hall on Monday over his alleged affiliation with Chhatra Shibir.
