Capital punishment to Abrar’s killer demanded
Nurul Haque Nur made the call from a protest rally today at Raju Memorial Sculpture near TSC in Dhaka University
Vice-President of Dhaka University Central Students' Union (Ducsu) Nurul Haque Nur has called for the capital punishment for those involved in the murder of Buet student Abrar Fahad.
He made the call from a protest rally today at Raju Memorial Sculpture near TSC in Dhaka University.
He alleged that activists of Bangladesh Chhatra League are showing its power bringing out mourning procession on the Dhaka University campus.
"The mourning procession was brought out to spread fear among the protesting and general students," he said.
However, after the mourning procession BCL Acting President Al Nahian Khan Joy demanded maximum punishment to the killers.
"We want punishment to the killers. It is the responsibility of the law enforcing agencies to proceed in this regard. We will help them in the investigation process," the BCL leader said.
Abrar Fahad, a second year student of Electrical and Electronic Engineering Department of Buet, was beaten to death allegedly by some leaders of Bangladesh Chhatra League's Buet unit inside the university's Sher-e-Bangla Hall in the early hours of Monday.
