Counterfeit medicines and hand sanitisers seized in Bogura
A company was fined Tk1 lakh
Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) Bogura Camp and district administration officials on Wednesday conducted separate raids in the city and seized counterfeit medicines and hand sanitisers.
RAB-12 Bogura Company Commander Rowshon Ali said, "Acting on secret information, we raided a warehouse in BSCIC industrial city area and seized one thousand bottles of fake hand sanitiser. At that time, Executive Magistrate GM Rashedul Islam fined the owner of the company, Sanwar Hossain, Tk1 lakh."
A mobile court also fined a man named Aminul Islam Tk 50,000 for making vermicelli in an unhealthy environment in the South Brindabanpara area of Bogura city.
RAB and district administration officials also seized counterfeit medicines from a shop in front of Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital and fined its proprietor Tk14,000.
The seized medicines were burnt on the bank of the Karatoa River.
Meanwhile, RAB officials said they were examining the hand sanitisers seized from the BSCIC industrial area.
