Fire destroys mobile court case documents, evidence at Bogura DC office
DC Hosna Afroza said, “Materials and evidence seized during mobile court operations as well as documents were stored in that spot. The fire burned all of them to ashes"
A fire broke out on the west side veranda of the building's ground floor at the Deputy Commissioner's (DC) Office of Bogura district at around 8:30pm yesterday (4 January).
Four firefighting units responded immediately and extinguished the fire before any casualty or major damage was sustained, confirmed Manzil Haque, deputy director of Bogura Fire Service and Civil Defence.
However, DC Hosna Afroza said, "Materials and evidence seized during mobile court operations as well as documents were stored in that spot. The fire burned all of them to ashes."
"The district administration will form an investigation committee to determine the cause of the fire."
The cause of the fire could not be determined immediately. Manzil said details will be available after an investigation.
