Court accepts charges against photojournalist Kajol
Dhaka Cyber Tribunal also set 22 April for hearing in a case filed against Kajol under the Digital Security Act
A Dhaka court on Wednesday took cognisance of charges against photojournalist Shafiqul Islam Kajol in a case filed under the Digital Security Act (DSA).
Dhaka Cyber Tribunal Judge Mohammad Ash Sams Joglul Hossain accepted the chargesheet, and set 22 April for a hearing on this case, reports Prothom Alo.
Court sources said police had earlier submitted a chargesheet against Kajol in January this year, in a similar case filed with the Hazaribag police station. Earlier this month, police also submitted chargesheet in one more case filed under the DSA with the Kamrangirchar Police Station.

Kajol, who had previously worked as a photojournalist at national dailies such as Dainik Samakal and Banik Barta, is the editor of the fortnightly magazine Pokkhokal.
Ruling party lawmaker Saifuzzaman Shikhor filed the case against Kajol and 31 others with the Sher-e-Bangla Nagar police station on 9 March last year on charge of publishing a report with "false information."
Kajol went missing the following day after leaving his office in the capital. Later, his wife Julia Ferdousi Nayan filed a general diary with Chawkbazar police station a day later.
Two more cases were also filed against him under the same act with Hazaribagh and Kamrangirchar police stations in the capital on 10 and 11 March last year.
After around 53 days' disappearance, on May 3, Kajol was detained by members of the Raghunathpur BGB camp on a charge of trespassing the Benapole border in Jashore.
