The tribunal has postponed the date due to the plaintiff’s sickness
Dhaka Speedy Trial Tribunal 1 has postponed the recording of the testimony of witnesses in the murder case of Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (Buet) student Abrar Fahad.
The tribunal has postponed the date due to the plaintiff's sickness and has fixed October 5 as the new date.
Plaintiff Abrar's father Md Barkat Ullah appeared before the tribunal on Sunday which was supposed to be the first day for the recording of the first testimony in the case.
The hearing began at around 12 noon on Sunday. Prosecutors Mosharraf Hossain Kajal and Mohammad Abu Abdullah Bhuiyan, appearing for the state, said the plaintiff had recently contracted jaundice. Although he is present in the tribunal today (Sunday), doctors told him to rest. So he needs time to testify.
Judge Abu Jafar Md Kamruzzaman of Dhaka's Speedy Trial Tribunal 1 granted the application at the end of the hearing and set a new date for taking evidence from October 5 to October 26.
