Crew rescued after another vessel capsizes in Bay
The engine of MV Argo became dysfunctional and capsized as water entered into it due to strong current in the bay
A lighter vessel carrying 152 containers capsized in the Bay of Bengal near Payra port early today after its engine went out of order.
Fourteen crew members went missing after MV Argo capsized. They were later rescued by navy personnel.
Navy sources said the rescued crew members would be handed over to the families this evening.

The engine of MV Argo became non-operational on Thursday night. The vessel capsized after getting flooded due to strong current in the bay.
Earlier on Thursday, two more vessels capsized in the Bay of Bengal due to inclement weather. A lighter named MV Hera Parbat-8 with 1,100 tonnes of coal overturned at Sandwip channel on Thursday morning because of bad weather. 12 crew members went missing but were later rescued.
Another vessel, MV Zulfar, capsized at around 6pm on Thursday in Rabnabad near Payra port in the district of Patuakhali. The 14 crew members were able to reach the shore safely. The ship was on its way to Chattogram from Kolkata.
