Ex-food minister Sadhan Chandra arrested from capital’s Bashundhara
He served as the minister of food during 2019–2024
The Detective Branch of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested former food minister Sadhan Chandra Majumder from the Bashundhara residential area of the capital this evening (3 October).
Deputy Commissioner (Media and Public Relations) Talebur Rahman confirmed the arrest.
He, however, could not clarify in which case Sadhan was arrested.
A veteran Awami League politician, Sadhan served as a longtime member of parliament for the Naogaon-1 constituency, encompassing Porsha, Niamatpur, and Sapahar upazilas. First elected in 2008, he was re-elected from the constituency in every following election during the Awami League regime in the last 17 years.
He served as the minister of food during 2019–2024.
