No one laying hands on policemen will be spared: DB Chief
If anyone attacks policemen deployed across capital amid ongoing "nationwide shutdown" protest programmes called by quota reformists, they will not be spared, Dhaka Metropolitan Police Intelligence Branch (DB) Chief Harun-or-Rashid said today.
"Madrasa students, Chhatra League, Juba League and Jamaat-Shibir have joined the quota reformists. They are laying hands on the police, vandalising their vehicles. None of them will be spared," he told reporters while visiting the Jatrabari area.
He further said the police made all kinds of arrangements. "But our patience is being tested. Those who mistake our patience for weakness are living in a fool's paradise."
Addressing the protesting students, he said, "I request you to go back home."
