Police arrest 2,448 in anti-drug drive over week

Police have arrested 2,448 people across the country in an anti-drug campaign over one week.
Some 1,720 cases were filed against those arrested, read a press issued by Bangladesh Police on Tuesday.
From July 26 to August 1 a total of 2,275 alleged drug dealers and users have been arrested by police in 1,720 cases in seven days of the anti-drug campaign.
During this campaign, police have seized: 4,43,886 yaba tablets, 9,446 bottles of phensedyl, 2.2 kilogrammes of heroin, 408 kilogrammes of cannabis, 23,511 liters of domestic liquor, and 346 bottles of foreign liquor.
