RAB arrests 5 with 4 lakh yaba in Teknaf, Cox's Bazar

Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) have arrested five drug dealers along with some four lakh pieces of yaba in separate drives in Teknaf and Cox's Bazar.

The arrestees are Gura Mia, 65, hailing from Teknaf Sabrang Union, Shamsul Alam, 30, of North Lombari area and Jamal Hossain, 36, of the same area.
The other arrestees are Mohammad Hossain, 28, of Haldiapalang West Dakuapara in Ukhia and Afsar Mia, 20, of the same area.
RAB-15 media officer ASP Abdullah Mohammad Sheikh Shadi said that acting upon a tip of a consignment of yaba was coming to Cox's Bazar from Teknaf by bus on Saturday evening, a check post was set up in Cheinda area.
On the other hand, RAB-7 Chattogram's captain Lt Colonel Mashiur Rahman Jewel said in a tip-off that a large consignment of yaba tablets had been stockpiled for sale at Hafez Ullah Bhutto's residence in the Hariakhali area of Teknaf's Sabrang Union.
According to that source, a team of RAB-7 conducted an operation there on Friday morning.
He further said that when questioned, one of the dealers said that inside the tin-shed residence of fugitive accused Fayez Ullah, yaba was hidden in a special way on the ceiling.
