Sinha murder: 3 key accused including OC Pradeep on 7-day remand

The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) on Tuesday took three prime accused including suspended officer- in-charge (OC) of Teknaf Police Station Pradeep Kumar Das on 7-day remand in the Major (retd) Sinha Mohammad Rashed Khan murder case.
Lt Col Ashique Billah, director of RAB's legal and media wing, confirmed the matter to The Business Standard.
The other two accused are - Baharchara Investigation Centre's Inspector Liakat Ali and Sub-Inspector Nanda Dulal Rakkhit.
Meanwhile, the home ministry's high-level investigation committee on August 17 completed the interrogation without quizzing OC Pradeep in the murder case.
The committee quizzed the other two key accused - Liakat Ali and Nanda Dulal Rakkhit - for seven hours from 10:43am at the Cox's Bazar jail gate.
Earlier on August 12, a Cox's Bazar court placed seven arrestees including four cops on seven-day remand in connection with the murder.
On August 5, Sinha's sister Sharmin Shahria Ferdous filed a case with the Teknaf Upazila Judicial Magistrate court accusing Teknaf police station Officer-in-Charge Pradip, Baharchhara Check-post In-Charge Liakat among nine policemen for the killing his brother.
On August 6, OC Pradeep surrendered before the court.
Sinha was killed in police firing in Cox's Bazar Marine Drive on July 31 night.
