Students arrested with LSD drug placed on 5-day remand
Earlier on 26 May, police arrested three private university students in connection with selling LSD in the capital city
A Dhaka court on Sunday placed the students who were detained with hallucinogenic drug Lysergic Acid Diethylamide (LSD) on a 5-day remand.
Dhaka Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Baki Billah granted the remand after the investigation officer sought a seven-day remand for interrogation.
The detainees are – two NSU students Sadman Sakib Rupol (25) and Ashab Wadud Turjo, (22), and IUB student Adib Ashraf (23).

Earlier on 26 May, police arrested three private university students in connection with selling LSD in the capital city.
The ongoing investigation into the death of Dhaka University student Hafizur Rahman has led to the raid and the recovery of LSD drug for the first time in Bangladesh.
The police seized 200 strips of LSD imported from the Netherlands and filed a case with Dhanmondi police station in this regard.
On the following day, the detainees were produced before the court where Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Debabrata Bishwas sent them to jail and fixed 30 April as the date of hearing.
