DGHS driver Malek suspended from job
DGHS Director General Prof. Dr Abul Bashar Mohammad Khurshid Alam confirmed the matter to journalists on Monday afternoon
Abdul Malek alias Badal, the arrested driver of the transport pool of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), has been suspended from his job.
DGHS Director General (DG) Prof. Dr Abul Bashar Mohammad Khurshid Alam confirmed the matter to journalists on Monday afternoon.
"The dismissal order came yesterday. But we couldn't do anything until we got the official papers. We did not have the documents. He was not in our department. He was in the department of health education. When we got everything from there, we suspended him. He has been dismissed for various crimes," the DGHS DG said.
He further said that according to the Bangladesh service rule, a person cannot be dismissed until proved guilty in a court of law.
On Sunday, Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) detained Malek on charges of carrying illegal firearm and trading in fake currency.
Later he was placed on 14-day remand in the two cases on Monday.
A Dhaka court granted the remand when police produced him before the court with 14-day remand plea.
