BPSC stands firm to hold 41st BCS exam in due time
“As per the commission’s decision, the examination will be held on 19 March following hygiene rules strictly,” said BPSC chairman.
Despite a steady uptick in Covid-19 infection rate and death toll, Bangladesh Public Service Commission (BPSC) has reiterated its firm stance to hold the preliminary examination of 41st BCS on the scheduled date.
"As per the commission's decision, the examination will be held on 19 March following hygiene rules strictly," Prothom Alo quoted BPSC Chairman Md Sohrab Hossain as saying.
Meanwhile, the call for deferring the preliminary examination date is getting louder.
A section of job seekers has organised a human chain in front of the National Museum in Shahbagh on Monday morning.
They demanded that the examination date be deferred in accordance with the reopening of dormitories of universities and colleges, as well as the vaccination programme.
Around 4.75 lakh job seekers have applied in the 41st BCS and are supposed to sit in the preliminary examination in the divisional cities on 19 March.
Some of the examinees feared that gathering such a massive number of people could be a boon to the mass-spread of coronavirus.
