Brac University continues to support students amid pandemic

Brac University is going to support its students during the second wave of ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.
The university has decided to continue its Student Assistance Fund for another semester in Summer 2021, says a press release by the university.
This special initiative of Brac University that started last year in Summer 2020, as a prompt response to the Covid-19 crisis, continues to be a source of great support and motivation for the students of the university.
Realizing the current situation of Covid-19 pandemic and its impact on socio-economic condition of the people, the Vice-Chancellor Professor Vincent Chang announced the decision to continue this financial support to the students. Considering the difficulties students are still facing during this second wave, he emphasized on the university's commitment to keeping the students' betterment above all. "Being a student-centric university, we go the extra mile for the betterment of our students, particularly in difficult times," said Professor Chang.
The components of the fund for summer 2021 will be similar to the previous semesters. Every student will receive a 100% non-tuition fee waiver and a 10% tuition scholarship. On a need basis, a limited number of students may receive tuition scholarships of more than 10% and up to 100%.
Brac University has already committed a total of USD 7.8 million (Tk 66 crores) as financial assistance for students in last three semesters.
